VIA is a faith-centered application designed for users 16 and older. VIA provides tools and AI-assisted features intended to support Scripture, prayer, reflection, spiritual growth, and other faith-related experiences.
Because users may discuss sensitive personal, spiritual, emotional, and other matters through VIA, the platform provides safety, reporting, moderation, and security measures intended to help address harmful, abusive, deceptive, or prohibited activity.
This Safety & Reporting Policy explains what users can report, how VIA may respond, how reported interactions may be reviewed, and what users should do when they believe an immediate danger exists.
This Policy supplements the VIA Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, AI Use & AI Privacy Notice, Age & Child Safety Policy, Community Guidelines, and other applicable policies.
This Policy applies broadly to VIA's current features and interactions, including applicable:
Feature-specific rules may supplement this Policy as new features are introduced.
VIA's current product may include user-generated content and social/community functionality as described in the applicable Community Guidelines.
If VIA introduces additional community, messaging, social, or other user-to-user functionality, additional safety rules may apply to those features.
VIA aims to provide users with a space where they can:
VIA also recognizes that no online service can guarantee complete safety.
Users should exercise reasonable judgment when:
VIA does not guarantee that:
Users should report content, behavior, AI responses, or other activity that they reasonably believe:
Reports should be made in good faith.
Where a reporting function is available, users may report the relevant:
Users should select the reporting reason that most closely matches the concern.
Providing useful context can help VIA evaluate a report.
For example:
"This user repeatedly contacted me after I asked them to stop and then created another account to contact me."
is generally more useful than:
"This person is bad."
Do not include unnecessary sensitive information in a report.
VIA may provide reporting categories such as:
The exact categories may change as VIA develops its reporting and safety systems.
When a user reports an interaction, VIA may review the reported interaction and reasonably necessary surrounding context.
This may include:
Authorized personnel may review reported material when reasonably necessary for:
VIA does not represent that authorized personnel routinely read private user content or AI conversations.
Review may occur when reasonably necessary for the purposes described above.
VIA will take reasonable measures to limit unnecessary disclosure of information contained in reports.
However, report information may be accessed by authorized personnel, service providers, moderators, security personnel, or other authorized parties when reasonably necessary to:
VIA cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality or anonymity of a report.
Where reasonably possible, VIA may avoid unnecessarily revealing the identity of a person who submits a report.
However, reporting information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary because of:
Submitting a report does not automatically guarantee anonymity.
Reports should be submitted in good faith.
Do not knowingly submit false, fraudulent, retaliatory, or abusive reports to:
A report that turns out to be incorrect is not necessarily a violation.
The concern is intentionally submitting false or misleading information or abusing the reporting system.
Where available, users may appeal eligible moderation or enforcement decisions.
An appeal should provide relevant information explaining why the decision should be reconsidered.
VIA may maintain reasonable limitations on:
Not every moderation or safety decision will necessarily be eligible for appeal.
When a report is submitted, VIA may evaluate:
Depending on the circumstances, VIA may:
The response depends on the circumstances and available information.
Reports may not be reviewed immediately.
Response times may vary depending on:
A lack of immediate action does not necessarily mean that a report has been ignored.
VIA does not guarantee that every report will result in:
Moderation decisions may depend on:
VIA is not an emergency response service or crisis-response service.
If you or another person appears to face an immediate threat of serious physical harm, do not wait for VIA to respond to a report.
Contact appropriate emergency services or another qualified emergency or crisis resource in your location.
Do not rely on a platform report to obtain emergency assistance.
Prayer, Scripture, and spiritual support may accompany appropriate professional or emergency assistance, but should not be treated as a substitute when immediate intervention is needed.
Users may discuss difficult emotional experiences, mental-health concerns, grief, trauma, self-harm experiences, or other serious personal struggles.
However, do not use VIA to:
VIA's faith-centered nature does not change these safety standards.
Users are encouraged to respond compassionately to people in crisis and encourage appropriate qualified help.
Spiritual encouragement may accompany professional care; it should not be used to discourage someone from obtaining necessary help.
VIA allows theological discussion and personal spiritual reflection.
However, spiritual authority must not be used to coerce another person into a high-stakes decision.
Particularly concerning are authoritative directives involving:
Examples of prohibited conduct include presenting statements such as:
"God told you to stop taking your medication."
or:
"If you really trusted God, you would refuse professional treatment."
or:
"God requires you to give me your money."
A user may share personal convictions and experiences.
The concern is the use of spiritual authority as a tool of coercion, manipulation, or dangerous direction, rather than the mere discussion of a controversial theological position.
VIA is a 16+ service.
Users must not use VIA to:
Suspected child sexual exploitation, grooming, or other serious child-safety concerns should be reported immediately.
VIA may preserve relevant information and disclose information to appropriate authorities or legally authorized organizations when required or appropriate.
Users should not expose another person's sensitive information without appropriate authorization.
Examples include:
Users should not use another person's vulnerability, testimony, confession, or prayer request to shame, exploit, intimidate, or target them.
Access to a private conversation does not automatically mean that the conversation may be publicly published.
When sharing screenshots or other private communications publicly, users should remove unnecessary identifying information, including:
Publishing private communications to expose, shame, harass, or mobilize others against someone may violate VIA's Community Guidelines.
Do not use VIA to expose or distribute private information for the purpose of locating, intimidating, humiliating, or targeting another person.

VIA may take immediate action when circumstances indicate a credible or significant safety concern.
Users should report suspected:

VIA may request additional information when necessary to evaluate an impersonation claim.
VIA provides AI-powered features that may assist with:
AI-generated information may be inaccurate.
Users should not treat AI output as automatic proof that:
Users should independently evaluate important AI-generated information.
VIA's AI features are intended to be non-authoritative, devotional, educational, and informational.
AI output is not a substitute for:
When circumstances involve serious health, safety, financial, legal, or other high-stakes decisions, users should consider seeking appropriate qualified assistance.
VIA's AI should not be treated as a divine authority.
Users should not represent AI output as:
AI-generated spiritual content can be useful for exploration and reflection while still requiring human discernment.
Users should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information to AI features.
Depending on the feature, information submitted to an AI system may include user-provided:
Users should consider whether the material contains sensitive information belonging to themselves or another person before submitting it.

Online interaction carries inherent risks.
VIA does not guarantee that:
Users should protect their boundaries and exercise reasonable judgment.
VIA may introduce additional community or social features in the future.
These may include additional:
If new features create new risks, VIA may establish feature-specific safety standards, reporting mechanisms, or restrictions.
The general standards in this Policy and the Community Guidelines will continue to apply unless a more specific rule governs the particular feature.
Where an appeals process is available, eligible enforcement decisions may be reconsidered.
Appeals should provide relevant information explaining why the decision should be reconsidered.
VIA may limit repetitive, abusive, fraudulent, or otherwise improper appeals.
An appeal does not guarantee that a decision will be reversed.
VIA may update this Safety & Reporting Policy as:
Material changes may be communicated through appropriate means.
The current version will be made available through VIA.
This Safety & Reporting Policy should be read together with:
Together, these policies establish the standards governing use of VIA.
When something goes wrong, the goal is to:
